There are many ways you can get involved with Scouting.
First and foremost, you can provide encouragement to the boys.
While Troop 8 is a scout-run troop, it is the involvement of adult parents and leaders that allows it to happen. There are a number of ways you can help Troop 8.
Supervision & Transportation
Some Troop activities require additional help with supervision and transportation.
Volunteering Your Time or Skills
At times the Troop needs help with things such as fixing the tires on the trailer, building storage shelves, organizing an event, or promoting a fundraiser.
Community Service Projects
Our service projects can always use a helping hand.
Merit Badge Counselors
Merit badge counselors play a vital role in scouting by offering time, knowledge, and other resources that enable Scouts to earn the merit badges of their choice. To learn more about what it means to be a merit badge counselor, see the Guide for Merit Badge Counselors on the Boy Scouts of America web site.
Troop Committee
The Troop Committee meets monthly to go over Troop business. Committee meetings are open to all adult leaders and parents, and are a great way to give your input and gain insight in how Troop 8 functions.
Troop Leaders
The Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters that make Troop 8 possible are adult volunteers who have taken Scout leader training.
