About Us

Troop 8 is a Boy Scouts of America troop charted by Sharon United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Troop 8 has existed since 2000. It started on the Northeast side of Cedar Rapids and in 2012 moved to it's current home at Sharon United Methodist Church.

Troop 8 is a Boy-Lead Troop, where the Scouts elect their leaders and plan and run all of the meetings and activities.

Troop 8 camps out nine or more times a year in various sites, such as Eagle Cave and Camp Wakonda.

Troop 8 helps Cub Scouts earn belt loops and requirements at Kirkwood Cub College each fall and during various Troop and Pack meetings.
